Hello, and welcome!  I’m Sammy, an Arashi fan from the USA.

My Vox is a growing collection of scans of stuff from Arashi's Limited Editions.  I scan everything from the booklets to the CD to the obi strip and pack it up in a Zip file for easy downloading.

I don't share music or videos from the albums, sorry.  There are plenty of sources out there for that already!

So, at the risk of making my bias known, I got next week's issue of An-An in the mail today and was kind of gobsmacked by the photos of Jun.  I didn't intend for this to be a journal of magazine scans, but this is too gorgeous not to share.

#22 - To Be Free

And here's To Be Free, Arashi's summery, guitar-driven tune that could almost be classified as rock (well, the kind that's safe enough to be played on the Lite Mix stations, anyway).

It's a good song, though I would have been just as happy to have it as filler on the upcoming album.  I don't know that there's anything exceptional enough about it to warrant a single release.  I like to think that it was recorded too late to make it into the album and not that I'm being suckered out of more cash by Johnny. 

Speaking of the big guy himself, his benevolence was such that we only had one edition this time around, but the First Press includes a separate photo booklet, the scans from which you can find here.

#21 - Monster

Here I am with Monster and a brand new scanner.  Sorry for the wait!

Definitely get the LE of this one if you can.  The RE doesn't have any bonus tracks, just the karaoke versions.  There's no booklet this time, which is a shame cause the pictures are lovely and I would have liked more.

I did manage to get in my pre-order of both the new album and the new single, so expect to see those here around release date.  Also, the new scanner is much faster so I will try to get to some of their past releases as well.  I have everything, so if you have requests you are welcome to make them.

Hi all, I'm still here.  I have Monster.  I also have a new PC with Windows 7 that doesn't seem to want to communicate with my scanner (which is about as old as Arashi =\).  I'm not sure if there's a workaround or if I'll have to splurge for a new one, but either way, I'll be back soon.

#20 - Troublemaker

I hope including Making of footage along with the PV will be a continuing trend.  And can I just say that I love the theme of the photo shoot, especially the front cover, which reminds me of something out of a 1930's gangster film produced by Warner Brothers.  

The booklet features one larger photo each of the boys (not a bad one in the bunch, check them out!), and includes some interesting facts that you probably didn't already know about them, such as their names and places of birth.  ...yeah.

Everything's packaged in a standard-sized clear jewelcase with a flipper.  Scans here (music + video not included) - enjoy!

#19 - My Girl

Sooo...I totally failed at getting this out on release week as planned (due in equal part to YesAsia's, um, "Express" shipping and my own laziness).  Therefore, meh.

Today's share is the sponty-approved Limited Edition of My Girl.  This LE boasts a photo booklet, the PV on DVD and a making-of.  Say it with me, people:

#18 - Kansha Kangeki Ame Arashi

O hai!

We're all kinda still in a nostalgic mood, I'm sure, so how about some more old stuff?

According to the 5x10 tour pamphlet, which has a complete discography in the back, this is the LE.  I was kinda confused about this since the catalog numbers of both editions are the same, and as far as I can tell with my limited Japanese there's nothing on the packaging to indicate that this one is special.  This one has stickers and is packaged in a standard jewel case rather than a slimline, so I suppose that makes it de-luxe...?

This happens to be my favorite cover art.  Extra points for the Sennheiser headphones.

#02 - Arashi No.1 Ichigou

I’m bumping this entry (originally posted 4/3/09) for a good reason!

You know how I was all like, "LOL there's no difference between the RE and LE Ichigou booklets."

Yeah, well.  Turns out I was wrong.  It happens. <_<

The covers are identical, but the photos inside are just sliiiiightly different.  Sneaky!  Here's an example of the RE and LE pics of Masaki, undoubtedly the member of the month(マイガール～10月9日金曜日よる11：15スタート！！):

So I went ahead and scanned each page of both booklets, lyrics and all, just for comparison's sake.  I've updated the scans file - it can be found here.

I also have come across a limited/alternate edition of Typhoon Generation as well, which I will be sharing soon.  This is what happens when you buy stuff and don't actually look at it for five months.

For posterity's sake, I've kept the original entry below, filthy lies and all:

I realized that this could turn out to be a rather large undertaking and didn't know where to start (we'll call Tomadoi Nagara the Prologue).  Then I figured I might as well start at the beginning.

No.1 Ichigou

So today's share is the Limited Edition of Arashi's debut album.  If like me you're only just getting around to buying it, you'll pay a fairly exorbitant amount of money for the following:

- the CD
- an unwieldy box to keep it in
- two small sheets of stickers
- a set of bookmarks
- a small sheet advertising their 01-02 calendar

Catalog # PCCJ-00004 - Released 01.24.01

I bought this set used, so I'm not 100% sure that it's complete.  I don't even know if the bookmark set was part of the original packaging; it certainly won't fit in the box.  Can any experts around here shed some light on this? 

Incidentally, this was the first Arashi CD I ever bought.  Before that the only songs of theirs I'd heard were WISH and Love So Sweet.  I put in the CD expecting more of the same, so you can probably imagine what went through my head when A-ra-shi was pumped through my stereo for the first time.  Major WTF moment there for me.  Ah, memories...

#17 - All the Best! 1999-2009

So yeah, I'm a little late this time around.

This entry is more or less a temporary placeholder for when I get the CD, for those who have been wondering.  I did order it, but I ordered the omg super slow el cheapo grande shipping this time around, so it'll probably be another week before it gets to me. 

But it's coming! :)
